Patient Testimonials

Doreen Biondolillo MS RN, Faculty Suffolk County Community College

"My mother, Catherine, has been a patient of Dr. William Purtill for the past few years. She has been treated for a stubborn leg ulcer. His skill and knowledge of wound care is only surpassed by his kindness, empathy, patience and consideration for those under his care".

"After my stent I was very satisfied with the results. I was able to walk again without any complications. I am now able to exercise without pain thanks to Dr. Purtill. He has a good sense of humor and good looking too!"

"I had no pain. I was on my feet and home in 2 days. The recovery was much quicker than I ever expected. I was back to driving in one week. I would highly recommend the doctor. He is patient friendly".

Procedure: Femoral-Popliteal Bypass August 2003 - C. Evelyn Edmund

"I am a 73 year old female who was referred to Dr.  William Purtill in May, 2003. I was immediately impressed by Dr. Purtill's charming personality, his sincere interest in and concern for his patients and his wonderful sense of humor. After a Doppler test and an angiogram Dr. Purtill performed bypass surgery on my right leg in June.2003.  The surgery went well and so did the recovery period. During the period from June, 2003 through August, 2007 it was necessary for Dr. Purtill to perform several more surgeries and angioplasties on both of my legs.  Needless to say I was totally distressed; I wondered is all this surgery really necessary? A physical therapist was sent to see if I required therapy after surgery.  As we walked the hospital corridor he said "you walk really well".   I told him it is because I'm an old pro, this was my sixth surgery.  His response was, "Wow! you're lucky, do you know how many doctors would have said amputate?"  There was my answer !!!  Dr.  Purtill's expertise and determination has kept me walking on both of my legs".

Procedure: Right Axillary-Femoral Bypass and Bbilateral Femoral-Popliteal Bypass - Hans Engel

Doctor William Purtill has been my physician for approximately 5 years. I am very happy with the operations performed and the professional follow-up treatment received.

Procedure: Right Axillary-Femoral Bypass and Bilateral Femoral-Popliteal Bypass - Frank Gulino

Eight years have passed and if not for a surgeon named Purtill, I should not have seen one fleeting moment of those years. From the streets of my home town, with a ruptured Aorta, to the operating room where he stood over me for six hours and saved my life. My life has since been fulfilled with my 4 year old and 2 year old grandsons. What else could one say?
