I am an Attending Vascular Surgeon. I treat people with diseases of the arteries and veins. I specialize in treating patients with PAD (peripheral arterial disease), as patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), patients with varicose veins and with carotid artery stenosis, I perform dialysis access procedures (AV Fistula or graft) for patients with renal failure.

My patients are treated with the latest therapies including endovascular techniques such as angioplasty, stents/stent-graft, endovenous saphenous vein laser vein ablation, and endovascular aneurysm repair for aneurysms. I also treat non-healing wounds – most are due to venous or arterial disease or from diabetes or pressure issues.

I am Board certified in Vascular Surgery and a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons (FACS). I am a member of The Society for Vascular Surgery, The Eastern Vascular Society, The Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society and The Society for Vascular Technology. I am also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) and a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), which means I can perform and interpret non-invasive tests - Doppler studies.

I was born in Limerick, Ireland and went to medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I moved to the United States in 1990 and trained at John Hopkins Hospital and SUNY Stony Brook. I completed my fellowship training in Vascular Surgery in 1997 at the University of Maryland and have many years of experience as a Vascular Surgeon.

I have published numerous articles in professional journals and given presentations on a variety of topics at medical conferences, seminars and to the public.

I have been included in the Top Doctors in New York Metro Area and Long Island, by Castle Connolly every year since 2008.
